FIBC / Bulk Bag Styles
What is an FIBC bulk bag?
FIBC stands for Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container — a large, industrial-grade woven polypropylene bag designed to transport and store dry bulk materials in quantities typically ranging from 500 kg to 2,000 kg (1,100 lb to 4,400 lb). FIBCs are the most cost-efficient bulk packaging solution for flowable solids, powders, granules, and flakes, replacing drums, boxes, and smaller sacks in applications where volume and handling efficiency matter.
Also known as supersacks, bulk bags, jumbo bags, tote bags, or big bags, FIBCs are used across virtually every industry that handles dry bulk materials — from chemical manufacturing and food processing to agriculture, mining, pharmaceuticals, and construction.
FIBC types we carry
Standard FIBC — U-panel and circular
General-purpose woven PP bags for dry bulk solids, powders, and granules. Available in U-panel (four-panel construction for a squared shape) and circular (seamless tubular fabric for a rounder profile). The foundation of most industrial bulk packaging programs.
Food grade FIBC
Manufactured to FDA 21 CFR, BRC, AIB, and HACCP standards for direct food contact applications. Virgin PP fabric with food-contact PE liners, ultrasonically cut edges, and full COA documentation. Used across food ingredients, animal feed, dairy, and nutraceutical industries.
UN-certified FIBC — Hazmat
Tested and certified per United Nations dangerous goods transport standards. We stock all four design types — 13H1, 13H2, 13H3, 13H4 — for Packing Groups I, II, and III. Full compliance documentation including UN mark, COA, and test reports ships with every order.
Type C — conductive, groundable
Woven with an interconnected conductive carbon thread grid and grounding tabs for static charge dissipation in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. Grounding connection required at every fill and discharge point. Compliant with IEC 61340-4-4.
Type D — Crohmiq, groundless
Crohmiq fabric dissipates static charges via controlled corona discharge without requiring any ground connection. Equivalent protection to a properly grounded Type C bag, without the human error risk of grounding verification. Approved for Zone 1 and Zone 2 without grounding infrastructure.
Baffle bag
Internal baffle panels maintain a square, stackable shape during filling and transport — increasing volume efficiency by 25–30% over standard FIBC designs and maximizing trailer, container, and rail car utilization.
Ventilated FIBC
Open-weave fabric allows airflow around the product — essential for agricultural commodities like onions, potatoes, firewood, and other produce that require ventilation to prevent moisture buildup and spoilage during storage and transit.
Industries we serve
Capro supplies FIBC bulk bags to buyers across a wide range of industries. Our in-house inventory and specialist team means we can support standard reorder programs and urgent same-day requirements alike.
Chemical manufacturing — industrial powders, resins, pigments, silica, specialty chemicals, and hazardous materials requiring UN-rated or static-protective configurations
Agricultural & feed — grain, seed, feed commodities, fertilizers, and agricultural inputs requiring food-contact, ventilated, or standard FIBC configurations
Food processing — sugar, flour, starch, spices, dairy powders, and food ingredients requiring FDA-compliant food grade FIBCs with full traceability documentation
Pharmaceutical & nutraceutical — APIs, excipients, vitamins, and supplement powders requiring food-grade or ESD-protective configurations with GMP-compatible documentation
Mining & minerals — mineral powders, mining byproducts, and aggregates requiring standard or UN-rated bulk bag handling
Construction & building materials — cement, mortar, dry mix, and aggregate in standard or custom FIBC configurations
Plastics & polymers — resin pellets, polymer powders, and plastic compounds in standard or Type C/D static-protective bags
